pinspiration: a farmhouse Easter

Maybe it's the copious amounts of Fixer Upper I've been watching lately (it's the perfect thing when I'm in preggo nesting mode, but too tired to actually clean or work on my own house), but I'm really feeling a farmhouse-inspired theme for Easter this year!

I'm so inspired by the cobalt and terra cotta tones in this very Anthropologie-esque vignette from House By Hoff.

How cool are the Rae Dunn inspired Easter eggs from DIY Beautify?

Using temporary tattoos to decorate eggs is one of those ideas I'd never think of - Lia Griffith is so creative!

To make your holiday extra special, here's a playlist that would be the perfect background music for a farmhouse brunch:

How are y'all doing? I'm still recovering from camp and took it slow all weekend (highlight: a trip to the Roanoke Valley's newest brewery). This week's clicks include flowers for days, dresses for all of your summer occasions, and the history of a Southern classic. Coming to the blog later this week, I've got a great new Pinspiration post and reviews of some recent entertainment faves. As always, shoot me an e-mail about what's new and awesome in your life - I'd love to chat!

  • Summer is always when I listen to country music the most, and I'm currently in love with the new track from local boys Old Dominion (two of the band's members are from Roanoke). Also, a country music video with video game references and bloopers? What a time to be alive.

pinspiration: Easter in the garden

What are your plans for this weekend? I'm looking forward to Easter Sunday and getting inspired by floral maxi dresses and full-on garden party vibes. Hopefully it will be warm enough to fire up the grill after church and invite some friends over for brunch on the patio!

If there's one day of the year that a flower crown is acceptable in public outside of Coachella, let it be Easter Sunday.

Love this vintage-inspired garden sign from Ella Claire.

How pretty are these botanical painted eggs from The House that Lars built?

There's lots more Easter inspiration over on my Pinterest boards, and I'm working on a Spotify playlist to celebrate:

  • Serena Ryder is a perennial favorite of mine, but I somehow missed this collaboration, which is really different from her usual bluesy sound and perfect for spring!

  • This might be my favorite Carpool Karaoke yet - it's Britney, bitches! I think my all-time favorite is still "Toxic," but I'm going to picture James from now on when I hear "Hit Me Baby One More Time."

  • The sun has finally come out in southwest Virginia, so I'm filling my playlist with upbeat, springy music perfect for warm days, like Little Brutes' "Make Our Own Way."

  • I'm obsessed with covers that put a song into a completely different genre, so I fell in love with Branches' version of "I Believe In a Thing Called Love" when I heard it on Spotify. What could be better to kick off February?

  • This week I'm loving Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James' beautiful song "The Book of Love" - definitely the most romantic thing I've heard in a while. I'm linking up with Musical Mondays at My So-Called Chaos.

  • Cutie Brett Eldredge's sense of humor comes through in his video for "Lose My Mind"... I have to say I was a little concerned about the girl's naughty nurse costume the first time I saw it until I realized that she was also the janitor, fellow patient, and psychiatrist... poor dude is seeing things. I'm linking up today at Musical Mondays at My So-Called Chaos... what could be more appropriate on a Monday than a song about padded rooms and straitjackets?

  • Thanks to Spotify, I'm in love with In the Valley Below's song "Dove Season." It's so unique I don't really know how to explain it... almost like what would happen if The xx teamed up with the Civil Wars. I'll be linking up with Musical Mondays at My So-Called Chaos.
