Continuing with the Pantone theme, here is some inspiration for a beach destination wedding... in the fall!  I like the idea of giving guests a chance to get away to the California shore or Hawaii this time of year, so chose images that are both sophisticated and fun.  I am especially giddy over the slate bridesmaids dresses with bamboo, emberglow, and honeysuckle flowers and lime orchids, and about the idea of a candy buffet in these tasty colors.

Glow Time... for your wardrobe and home!

To explain the complete lack of posts this week, it was the first week of school for students and I have been busy, busy, busy getting my classroom set up, meeting parents, planning lessons, and welcoming my pupils to eighth grade!  Thank goodness it's the weekend, and time for the next color on this fall's Pantone list: honeysuckle.  It's a rich, cheerful pink that goes well from summer to fall.

Orange Crush... for modern weddings!

If a bride told you her wedding colors were orange and black, would you immediately think, "Halloween?"  I found some orange and black inspiration for a fall wedding that would be modern, elegant, and not at all costume party-ish.

Orange Crush... for your wardrobe and home!

I'm going to be honest:  the orange in my wardrobe is pretty much limited to university t-shirts.  But hey, I am loving emberglow- it's a lot warmer than hunting-season blaze orange or summer tangerine.  Here are some ways to work it into your closet and home if you're craving a little warmth this season.

For wardrobe inspiration, here are two of my favorite finds from Polyvore.  Unfortunately, most of the items on them are now out of stock- but we can still copy these looks!

Yep, it's the same basic idea in two separate (fabulous) outfits: basic white tee, gray cardigan, and jeans paired with animal print flats (remember when Oprah told us we all needed a pair?) and orange accessories.

Well hello there, super-bright trench coat!  This sweetness is $34.94 at Old Navy.

And for all your orange handbag needs...

Sonoma embroidered peasant top, $19.49 at Kohl's.  I like this one because unlike most peasant tops, it doesn't put cleavage on display- it's okay to wear to work!

Feeling really brave?  Rock some orange tights.

How about some orange for your home?

Threadleaf maple print by JoshFriedmanPhoto on Etsy... get the satisfaction of having a Japanese maple tree without having to wait for one to grow in your yard (is it weird that the mister and I have a wish list of trees we want to plant when we own land?)

Stacked pine frames by GrowthRing on Etsy (or DIY a little orange frame for somewhere special!)

Autumn glow chandelier by BootsNGus on Etsy... this is a masterpiece.
