CHERISH. let these links brighten your day.
I curated most of this post well in advance of this weekend's tragic events in Baton Rouge, St. Paul, and Dallas, and I'm still at a loss as to how to address my feelings about the state of my country right now on this blog. Even on a lifestyle blog about color and celebration, there has to be time for quiet, time for mourning, time for real. This week, I am longing for balance.

- The Brothers Comatose are an acoustic quintet whose music blends bluegrass and folk, so naturally I'm smitten. "Morning Time" features vocals from The Gramblers' Nicki Bluhm, whose voice pairs perfectly with singer Ben Morrison's, and the lyrics seem especially relevant to me at this house-hunting stage in my life with Mr. Q.

Life is never going to work out how you planned and the sooner you accept that, the sooner you will start greeting the unexpected with open arms. Let the unknown, the unplanned and the possibility of change excite you. Let the future take you to places you never knew."

Fall 2015: Oak Buff
Somewhere between camel and mustard lives a fall color that is a throwback to the 1970's: Pantone calls it Oak Buff, and it's definitely on-trend this season, whether your style is rustic, modern, or glam. This familiar, cozy and warm fall color looks fresh and perfect for fall on everything from bohemian rugs and midcentury modern ottomans to a new plaid shirt. Disclaimer: Stitch Fix links contain a referral code. Thank you for supporting Beyond the Aisle and the fashion musings of a small town girl ;)

1. The Limited faux gem earrings 2. Stitch Fix plaid shirt 3. Ruche Sunny Skies hip belt
