sunday simplicity.

“It has long been an axiom of mine that the little things are infinitely the most important.”

WATCH.

  • Thank you, James Corden, for the gift to humanity that is Carpool Karaoke! Have y'all seen this one with Michelle Obama and Missy Elliot yet? These folks are having so much fun with "Single Ladies" and "Get Ur Freak On!"

clicks of note: you are worth much more...

  • I adore my students this semester - they seriously make me want to jump out of bed in the morning and get to work early so I can create an exciting lesson for them - but my goodness, that three-day weekend was a treat.  While Mr. Q was biking across Virginia for charity, I was finishing my every-single-episode-of-Buffy rewatch, reading Outlander, and pretty much eating like the queen of the farmer's market.

LISTEN.

  • Eric Hutchinson's music is always a great pick-me-up when I'm feeling bored or a little bit down.  "You Dont' Have to Believe Me" is getting me energized this morning.  I'm linking up with Musical Mondays at My So-Called Chaos.

BE INSPIRED.
Stop blaming yourself for being human. You’re fine. Having a little anxiety is fine. Being scared is fine. Your secrets are fine. You’re well-meaning. You’re intelligent. You’re blowing it out of proportion. You’re fine.

Pantone Winter 2012: Orchid Hush and Quarry Wedding Inspiration

I feel like I kind of failed at what I set out to do with this post.  I went through my inspiration folders to find orchid hush and quarry and ended up with quite a bit of purple sneaking in and THREE separate photos of flowy bridesmaid dresses.  On top of that, I realized almost all of the images were from Style Me Pretty.  What can I say... I love gray, blue, and purple, and I love SMP.  I think if I had a late winter/early spring wedding, it would look a little like this.

Our Wedding: Bridal suite-ness

While the girls and I got ready in the bridal suite, our photographer took some time to take a series of beautiful detail shots.

My favorite ring shot of the day

My something old and something blue... the locket on my bouquet was a graduation gift from BM Breeze when I earned my Master's degree and is engraved with my maiden name initials.  I wear it almost every day.  For the wedding, I slipped in a picture of my dad, so that he could walk down the aisle with my mother and I in spirit.  Only me, my mom, and our photographer knew it was there.  That was the advantage for me of a locket instead of a clear frame- it wouldn't make any family members sad.
