force to grow days. They sprout secretly between the
chapters of the year, covertly included between its pages.”

“Some things you know all your life. They are
so simple and true they must be said without
elegance, meter and rhyme...they must be naked
and alone, they must stand for themselves.”
― Philip Levine

optimistic, and undertakes her work

sunday simplicity #115: if thou must love me...

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say,
"I love her for her smile—her look—her way
Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day"—

For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may
Be changed, or change for thee—and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry:
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!

But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity.
- Elizabeth Barrett Browning

Thursday, February 14

happy valentine's day!

"And you can tell everybody this is your song.
It may be quite simple, but now that it's done,
I hope you don't mind,
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world."

- from "Your Song" by Bernie Taupin and Elton John

wedding blog spotlight: style me pretty

There's one wedding blog that I don't think I'll ever stop visiting, no matter how long I've been married.  Style Me Pretty is one of my favorite wedding planning blogs because it features some of the most gorgeous wedding ideas and photography I've ever seen, every single day.  SMP features weddings from all over the United States and the world.

Abby Larson founded SMP and serves as its editor today.  She got into the wedding industry as an invitation designer and her eye for style is impeccable.

In addition to a rapidly-updated slate of real weddings, SMP features local blogs and a wedding vendor Little Black Book.  On top of all that, Abby has published a BOOK!  Style Me Pretty is a huge inspiration to me as a blogger because Abby features weddings that fit her own style and vision, and supplements the wedding-related content with DIY project tutorials and home decor and entertaining ideas that everyone can appreciate.  Even though I'm no longer planning a wedding, SMP keeps me inspired.

What are your favorite wedding blogs to visit?
