Hi, y'all! I started this blog when I was a bridesmaid. When my friend asked me to be her bridesmaid, I had the sense that I was part of something special and fell head-over-heels in love with all things wedding while accompanying her to dress fittings and other appointments. I even found myself buying wedding magazines and visiting wedding websites. I realized that weddings are a "big deal" for everyone involved, not just the bride- and this blog was born.
When it came time to plan my own wedding, I was confident that it could be done without a wedding planner, because I knew I wouldn't be alone. Weddings can be a labor of love put together by family and friends, and that's what our wedding day was.
My husband and I have been married for over three years now - it's hard to believe! We have gotten settled in to our little country townhouse in southwest Virginia, which we enjoy making more "ours" with a contemporary cottage feel. I like to direct my wedding crafts energy into seasonal crafts and home decor, and we both enjoy cooking, though I'll be the first to admit that I'm a messy cook! I teach middle school English and love YA literature. I love small town life and hearing good stories.
