I really enjoyed participating in the #septemberstories Instagram challenge hosted by librarians Val (sunlightstringer) and Wikk (wkr1990). I was able to share some of my personal favorites and add to my already-long to-be-read list! Since I teach middle school, most of my choices are YA, but I threw in some classics, children's books, and adult lit as well.
Here are my choices from the end of the month:
Romantic: Emma by Jane Austen || Fantasy: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Thriller/Crime: The Millenium series by Stieg Larsson
Makes Me Laugh: The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank
Makes Me Cry: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
Favorite Short Story: "A&P" by John Updike
Old: "The Charge of the Light Brigade" by Alfred, Lord Tennyson || Children's Book: Olivia Goes to Venice
Best Title: So You Want to Be a Wizard by Diane Duane
Made Into a Movie: the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare
Read Over and Over: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Book I Could Live In: I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith
Book About My Home Area: The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant (inspiration for the movie Lawless)
Book I Can Quote: The Waste Land and Other Poems by T.S. Eliot
Character I Am Most Like: Hermione Granger!
Shortest Book I've Read: Good Grief by Granger E. Westberg
What I'm Reading Next: The Maze Runner by James Dashner || Best Ending: the Harry Potter series
This was such a fun little challenge! I always love those 30 day photo challenges, but this is probably my favorite one that I've seen.
